• Internet Casino Sucker Wagers — Part II

  • Progressive side wagers: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly contain one of these. You normally lay a wager ($1 is the normal value) to try to win a side jackpot that can reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Although big jackpots like this are extremely appealing, they are also particularly hard to succeed. You would have to get a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this wager. Also, imagine this- you wager 20 hands and place the side bet every time. That’s 20 dollars you should have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with better odds using that $20.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only 1. This takes the complete house advantage from 2percent with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5percent in American. The single number wager has only a one in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much smaller casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you wager on it, the casino edge can be a huge twenty-five percent. No, that isn’t a error. Because of the huge set of numbers you have to pick, it’s not advisable to wager on Keno to often. A couple of times for fun, perhaps. But don’t spend all your money on it or you’ll quickly discover yourself broke.
